Julien Marolf (b. 1984, Switzerland) is a Swiss contemporary artist whose practice navigates the intersections of memory, materiality, and the reinterpretation of historical and cultural symbols. Through sculpture, assemblage, and mixed-media installations, Marolf explores themes of perception, value, and the shifting meaning of objects in different contexts.

His work often incorporates found materials, repurposed artifacts, and elements of craftsmanship, creating a dialogue between past and present. By blending humor, irony, and subtle social critique, Marolf challenges the way we assign importance to objects and traditions. His piece Maquereaux et cadre doré, developed during his residency at the Verbier 3-D Foundation, reflects his fascination with the contrast between the ordinary and the revered, questioning the constructs of artistic and cultural worth.
