Timothy Talbott Holmes moved to the Languedoc region of southern France in 1994 to benefit from the translucent natural light and draw inspiration from the beautiful Mediterranean. He sculpts full-time in his studio in Usclas du Bosc, a 12th century village on the pilgrimage route of St. Jacques de Compostella.
Tim uses a variety of local woods including cypress, cedar, chestnut and boxwood; He is captivated by their varying textures and scents. All of his wood sculptures are cast into bronze limited editions.
He studied at The Chelsea School of Art and Design in London and the John Makepeace School for Craftsmen in Beaminster, England. He did an apprenticeship in aeronautical engineering at British Aerospace.
